Radio Soest - 8th May

Matthijs Barnhoorn writes - A wonderful sunny morning, temperatures are rising and I'm on Chris' bicycle driving towards the studio of Radio Soest - alone... Linda could really do with catching up on some sleep, as the last couple of days have been quite tiring for her. Chris had to sort some business out with a theatre that was booked for next a utumn, but has to close down this summer. So we decided that I would do the radio show with Jean, which has become a very pleasant 'tour ritual' on the Dutch trips.

I rolled up half an hour early (which is a little different to some other times, when we had to charge straight into the studio…) and was welcomed by Jean with a big hug. We had lots of coffee and a great time catching up on the last 6 months. Luckily Sebastiaan, the sound technician told us when it was time for Jean to announce the next songs or do a little telephone interview.

The three of us had a ball!

The interview itself was nice too. It was my first solo radio interview for Magna Carta, but of course I´ve learned from the best (Chris told me to say that). We talked about the last year of Magna Carta, the last concert in Royal Theatre Carré and what our roads will look like after this last Magna Carta concert.

Time flew away and all too soon the half an hour was gone and Jean had to finish the show. Again it was a great time in Radio Soest!

I jumped on the bicycle again and headed back to the Eekhoornnest to find the wonderful staff at their morning break - guarantee for a lovely time.
